Blend of gentle vinyasa, pranayama (breath work) and meditation for those experiencing anxiety, depression and chronic illness. Kara found yoga at the age of eleven when her mother taught her first sun salutation. She has sustained a steady yoga practice for 25 years. It wasn't until she discovered Pranava, that she became inspired to advance her long time personal practice. The reverence for her spiritual and asana practice has expanded in ways she never thought possible. Kara’s training has been eclectic in nature pulling from various yogic traditions such as Vinyasa, Iyengar, Ashtanga and Restorative. The foundation for her practice lies in the spiritual practice of meditation which she has studied for two decades. She enjoys teaching students practical ways to bring yoga and meditation into daily life. She is a graduate from the University of Louisville and the University of Denver. She is an oncology social worker at University of Colorado Health, Memorial Hospital where she is enriched by her work. She is now teaching yoga to cancer patients where she hopes to improve their quality of living. She is crazy about her two children, Ben and Britta, who bring much joy and laughter to her life. She likes traveling, dancing, cycling, running, gardening, skiing. She is also exploring stand-up paddleboarding.
