What is Ayurveda? (Science of Life: Ayu - Life and Veda - Science)

Ayurveda is a traditional, holistic, natural healing science of health that has been practiced for over 5,000

years and teaches how to live a healthy, balanced life. By connecting mind, body and spirit, Ayurveda

strives to improve harmony and happiness in an individual. Ayurveda respects the uniqueness of an

individual with mind, body and spirit and treats the root cause of imbalances. Ayurveda seeks to

restore the natural balance and improve the state of health and, for that, emphasizes the maintenance

of good health through a balanced daily routine (Dinacharya), seasonal routine (Ritucharya) and a

balanced wholesome diet.

Cooking Workshop for Healthy Eating/Living: Way to Health, Healing and Longevity

1) Fundamentals of Ayurveda.

2) Understand unique constitution (Prakruti) of Vata, Pitta and Kapha energy.

3) Understanding of basic spices, six tastes and digestion

4) How to incorporate spices based on individual constitutions and different seasons

5) Learning & cooking a healthy 3-course meal

a. Vegetable lentil Soup

b. Natural salad dressing

c. Spiced oil

d. Khichadi with vegetables 

e. Wholesome sweet made of cream of wheat
